Our Alpaca fleece has been sourced from South African farmers. This beautiful fleece is encased in 300 thread count Egyptian cotton, making it incredibly soft and light. This makes a duvet inner that is light, wonderfully temperature regulating and utterly luxurious.Â
A Karoo Creations Alpaca-fleece duvet is naturally low in allergens. Their fibre make-up is resistant to dust mites. This means less sneezing and itchy eyes.
The natural fibres allow your body to regulate temperature more easily than man-made fibres (or down/feathers) with the additional benefit of the wicking properties of natural wool, allowing the moisture from your body’s natural respiration to leave the duvet.Â
Compared to a down or feather duvet an Alpaca-fleece duvet is just as lightweight. We cannot give a TOG measurement for our duvets. TOG ratings measure insulting power. An Alpaca-fleece duvet keeps your body at the perfect temperature for sleep by allowing heat to dissipate into the surrounding atmosphere. A down, feather or polyester filled duvet traps the heat. This is what causes you to overheat, sweat and eventually having to throw off the duvet.
An Alpaca-fleece duvet is measured in GSM – grams per square metre. The Alpaca-fleece is carefully weighed before being quilted into our duvets. This means that your body stays at the perfect sleeping temperature throughout the night.
