• A choice of fill weights to suit your personal comfort preferences
• Exceptional temperature regulation — cool in summer, luxuriously warm in winter (only applicable to the Lightweight duvet)
• Advanced moisture control — naturally releases excess heat and humidity throughout the night
• Completely free from synthetics, chemicals, plastics, and VOCs
• Naturally fire retardant for added peace of mind
• Hypoallergenic properties — resistant to dust mites, mildew, and mould
• Our signature quilted construction keeps the wool perfectly in place, preventing clumping or shifting
• Sustainably crafted using pure Namaqualand sheep wool, processed in Paarl and hand-finished in Richmond with a 100% cotton casing

A truly authentic South African luxury product — thoughtfully created with craftsmanship, purity, and longevity in mind.

Care Instructions:
To preserve the integrity and natural performance of your duvet, do not machine wash, iron, or dry clean. Instead, allow the natural sanitising properties of sunlight and fresh air to rejuvenate the wool by airing the duvet 3–4 times per year. For optimal freshness, alternate this with a thorough vacuum of your unmade mattress.

Each piece is lovingly handcrafted by skilled artisans, a process that takes time and care. Kindly allow 3-4 weeks for completion.

A few important notes for your decision-making:

If you’re a very hot sleeper or live in a warmer part of the country, consider our ultra-lightweight wool duvet.

What is the temperature of your bedroom most of the time? That is one of the first things you should consider when choosing the weight or the thickness of your wool duvet. Ours come in three weight options: Summer (Ultra and Lightweight, Mediumweight (mid-season) or Winterweight (Extra Warm). That doesn’t mean that you are limited to just 4 weight options, however, since we do have an All Year 2 Duvet Set.

One of the main differences between the three main weights is… the weight itself and the warmth it provides. So, if you get cold at night, are comfortable under heavy duvets, sleep in a cold room and are based in a colder part of the country, then the Extra Warm duvet insert option would be perfect for you. If not, you might want to consider our lighter options.

Still not sure what weight to choose?

We’ve got you covered with our All Year 2 Duvet Set. This is a very practical option. It allows you to clip together two duvets (Lightweight and Mediumweight) and use them together when needed.

Description

Looking for a duvet that will improve the quality of your sleep? You’ve come to the right place!  Once you have slept under a 100% pure Merino wool duvet, you’ll notice that you don’t overheat anymore because of wool’s natural thermo-regulating properties.

Your sweating will also be reduced through wool’s natural makeup of the keratin fibre that wicks moisture away from your body.

Allergies will be a thing of the past. Wool naturally repels dust mites that are the cause of those pesky itchy eyes and sneezing.

And you’ll have peace of mind knowing that you will not be inhaling any VOC’s off-gassed by plastic or down-alternative duvets.  Your chances of suffering from Down Duvet Lung Syndrome will also be removed (please Google this… we are not making this up!)

Disclaimer: The Winterweight Duvet is very warm and is best suited for the colder parts of the country, cold houses and bedrooms and for people that get very cold at night.

The amazing provenance of our wool

From the beautiful Namaqualand in the Northern Cape, our 100% Merino wool is shorn yearly from sheep looked after by farmers who subscribe to the highest standard of animal husbandry.  From there, it takes a short trip to Paarl, where it is washed using eco-friendly and water-wise processes, and then sent to us here in Richmond.

Our fully sustainable wool thus has a very small carbon footprint only travelling in two of South Africa’s provinces, compared to thousands of kilometres for imported plastic duvets.

Although the product is good, the price is still rather steep but as all healthy products in life, it comes with a price tag. I would also like to mention that the winter merino wool duvet is really very warm.

  1. I am always weary of all the hype given by those that manufacture and sell! But but but, I am way beyond loving every aspect of my light-weight pure merino duvet. Being a ‘hot’ granny, I would sweat like the proverbial piglet under my down duvet. This Karoo Creation – ahhhh perfect. Thank you for honouring your words.

  2. The quality is superior and outstanding and a product that is clearly made with the greatest care.

  3. Love love love

  4. The quality of materials and workmanship that went into this duvet is very visible. I love the way it maintains my body temperature on cold winter nights, without being too bulky or heavy.

  5. It is super light and warm for winter.

  6. We love our new duvet and pillow.

  7. Very good quality.

  8. I love them.
